This morning I heard someone at my local NPR affiliate state that the nationalist movement in Catalonia, the vote for Brexit, etc. were examples of "isolationism".
That is BS.
What they do represent is a push back against the SOCIOCIDE being conducted by the globalists.
People want to determine their own identity and their own future. They don't want Facebook, Google, and the rest of the military-industrial-banking-information complex constantly meddling in their lives and telling them what they can and cannot do.
All peoples have the right to self-determination. By virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development.

I wholeheartedly endorse that right, and I wish we had it here in the USA.
And stop calling it "isolationism".
