Holland Also Will Ban The Automobile

You may recall my recent post about Norway's plan to ban fossil fueled automobiles:

Now Holland plans to do the same thing:

The Netherlands plans to ban the sale of gasoline and diesel cars from 2025.  In less than ten years so could newly come into the streets only electric cars.

Not really explained by either country is where the electricity to power these cars will come from. My previous analysis of the US electricity situation applies to some degree to Europe as well:

Much of Europe wants to ban nuclear; hydro power is more or less maxed out; and the push to ban coal to combat "climate change" will affect them, too. So where's the power going to come from? Solar? If it does, it will be DAMNED expensive.

One factor in Holland's favor is that it has a well developed public transportation system. That should help when people no longer can afford to use privately owned vehicles.
