The FBI is instructing local police departments and "communities against terrorism" to consider anyone who harbors "conspiracy theories" about 9/11 to be a potential terrorist, in a circular released to local police departments.

Here is what some of us used to think, summarized in a statement attributed to Thomas Jefferson (although he apparently said no such thing):
"When government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."
I would posit that the exact opposite of that statement is what Americans embrace today.
