The Big Lie About The Constitution

Consider for a moment the argument made in this so-called "news article":

For at least 17 years, the officials of Monroeville, Pa., a 30,000 population Pittsburgh suburb, have recited the Lord's Prayer before every council meeting.

This violates the First Amendment. And it's not even a gray area. Finally, the ACLU sent the council a letter, threatening to file a lawsuit.

You can read the rest @

Really? What does the First Amendment actually say?

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

"Congress shall make no law ... " What does that have to do with the Monroeville city council? NOTHING !!!

Please stop believing the claim that you can't freely exercise your religion whenever and wherever you wish. It's just not true.
