Feeding Pets Instead Of Children

People in the US spend at least $22 billion per year feeding their pets, with the total annual pet expenditures reaching $58 billion. You can read about it here:

Meanwhile, there are 16.2 million hungry children in the US:

If we spent the pet food money on feeding these children, it would yield $3.72 per day per child, which if carefully managed would be enough to end child hunger in the US.

Is this likely to happen?

Don't hold your breath.
