Did Arab Spring Lead To Islamic State ???

Here is some gibberish I just found in The Jerusalem Post:

In the future, when some historians analyze this period of Middle Eastern turmoil, the timeline will show that the ‘Arab Spring’ led to civil wars, followed by the rise of Islamic State.

In other words, uprisings that supposedly broke out for what many deemed at the time to be cravings for freedom and democracy resulted in their opposite – more chaos, the disintegration of nation states, and the emergence of the most radical Islamic group in modern times.

In some cases, there is now a wish for a return to the status quo ante – state regimes led by strongmen that can restore order.

That's not the way I see it.

Thanks to support from the US and Israel, several dictatorial regimes in the region more or less thrived while their people suffered. When the people finally did rise up (Arab Spring), the US and Israel did everything they could to suppress these peaceful revolutions. The only people who actually desire a return to state regimes led by strongmen are in the US, Europe, and Israel - not in the affected countries.

Ask yourself this question: if the people of the region were given a choice between a government run by ISIS/ISIL or a government run by Israel, which would they choose?
