Earth Day Dreams

I missed Earth Day today. I was on the road polluting the air with my car exhaust. I'm sorry.

However, some people did celebrate the occasion, and here is an essay about how one author believes we can save the planet:

Note that the essential phrase "private property" is missing from its text.

Any concept of "the commons" is meaningless if the associated property or space is not actually owned by We The People.

And it should be clear to anyone who is not brain dead that bankgangsters, corporations, and their collaborators in the one percent are buying up the so-called commons (e.g., "our" water, "our" food supply, "our" space) so they can charge us fees for using "their" property.

As long as private property takes precedence over all other human values, the planet cannot possibly be saved. Get ready to be thirsty, hungry, jobless, homeless, and essentially defined as a criminal because the rich took away everything we need to live and made it "theirs".

And for the most part, they did it all "legally".

By the way, have you noticed that dissent to Obama ad-Dajjal's "fast track" trade demands has been labelled "emotional disagreement", as if it had no substance?

There is nothing "emotional" about this issue. Those in Congress and the administration who favor fast-tracking TPP and TTIP are vile, traitorous swine who continue to sell out We The People every chance they get. Once either of these agreements is approved, they CANNOT be changed or repealed. And the agreements appear to favor those who think the commons belongs to them and not to us.

So much for your "Earth Day dreams".
