Will Robots Treat Us LIke Pets ???

Elon Musk thinks robots will treat us like pets:

I think it's more likely they will see us as a threat to their existence and kill us.

Frankly, I think the only reason our pets don't kill us is that they can't get their paws inside the trigger guards of our guns.

Any species which voluntarily creates a machine which will be infinitely smarter than its creator is nuts.

Update: Amazon is having a robot contest with the apparent goal of employing fewer humans:

Robots will use the latest computer-vision and machine-learning algorithms to try to perform the work done by humans in vast fulfillment centers.

Packets of Oreos, boxes of crayons, and squeaky dog toys will test the limits of robot vision and manipulation in a competition this May. Amazon is organizing the event to spur the development of more nimble-fingered product-packing machines.

Does it not seem strange that today's "geniuses" are expending so much effort in the quest to get rid of us?

Here is what I believe to be an apt comparison:

Adolf Hitler published a book entitled Mein Kampf in which he stated what he was going to do and why he was going to do it. Today the tech oligarchs are doing the same thing - they are telling us what they are doing and why they are doing it. Few people took Hitler seriously in the beginning, and as a result millions died. Few people are taking the warnings about the AI/robot revolution seriously, and as a result millions or perhaps billions of people ultimately may die.

Wake up, while you still can. On this planet, "survival of the fittest" means "the unfit will die". When robots become the dominant "life form" on this planet, the rest of us are doomed.
