Hands Up Doesn't Keep Police From Shooting You

“Hands up, don’t shoot” has become a rallying cry at protests against police brutality since the killing of Mike Brown in Ferguson, Missouri last summer. But now, video and audio have just been released by the Bridgeton, New Jersey Police Department which highlight the poignancy of the phrase. The dashcam footage clearly shows officers Braheme Days and Roger Worley shooting Jerame Reid who had his hands plainly in front of him, after exiting the vehicle to show his hands were empty.

Clearly, there is something wrong with the rules of engagement being used by US police.

Also clearly, the government is not doing anything to change this.

Was that in the state of the disunion address?
