The unspeakable in the mass media

The following are issues which cannot be and are not discussed in the MSM in the English-speaking world:

  • The capitalist workplace is anti-democratic.
  • The free market means that those without money to buy what they need do not have the right to live.
  • The history of Western civilization is largely a history of genocide against non-white peoples and cultures.
  • There is no correlation between people's wealth and their merit.
  • The very rich ought not to be admired, but rather condemned for their acquisitive self-interest at others' expense.
  • Our major social problems are caused by the profit imperative overriding all other values.
  • Our schools do not train the young to think critically but to obey corporate or office authority without question.
  • The President and his leading advisers are provable war criminals.
  • Christianity calls for the redistribution of wealth.

[Borrowed from "The Unspeakable: Understanding the System of Fallacy in the Media" by Professor John McMurtry]

Note: His essay has 30 such issues; I have listed the ones I think are most important to us today.
