How Veterans Return From America’s Wars

I recently finished reading Ann Jones's book They Were Soldiers: How the Wounded Return from America's Wars: The Untold Story. It's both an eye-opener and a heart breaker. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to know what's really happening to our soldiers and veterans.

Here's an excerpt from her book, along with an intro by Nick Terse. If you can't read the book, you should at least read this essay:

The more I read about America's modern wars, the more I am convinced that one of their chief purposes is to destroy the American citizen soldier:

They sure as hell have nothing to do with betterment of the people who are fighting them, on either side.
