Like many Americans, people in Germany are camping out these days because they cannot afford to live anywhere else:

I'll admit, it's difficult to feel sorry for someone who owns a Mercedes, but I think there is a clear global trend. The middle class is dying out, and in their waning years they are finding novel ways to live well on a small pension. I may try this some day, but probably not in Germany.
