Not yet a fire sale

Just watched (again) the movie "Live Free or Die Hard". It made me think about Anonymous and their recent threat, "This time there will be change, or there will be chaos ..." I don't know what that means, but if you've watched the fire sale unfold in the movie, you can probably imagine a few things they might do.

I got the impression that Anonymous is currently focusing on the so-called Department of Justice. Let's think about the system of "justice" in America for a minute:
  • The DOJ has run "operations" that give assault weapons to drug cartels.
  • More drug users than traffickers have been incarcerated.
  • And drugs are pouring in by the boat load.

Does it make sense that a "homeland security" system that can track every dime which might go to a Muslim charity cannot see BILLIONS of dollars of drug money pouring through our financial system like a fire hose?

Does it make sense that banks that are caught laundering drug money get off scot-free?

As Ani DiFranco once said,
"the old dogs have got a new trick
it's called criminalize the symptoms
while you spread the disease".

America is a criminal enterprise. Its "Justice Department" and so-called "law enforcement" agencies are part of the muscle which keeps this criminal enterprise functioning and which ensures that the right people make lots of money and never, ever go to jail.

I don't know what Anonymous will do, or when, or how; but I have to ask, "Is it possible that we would be better off if they did?" I do not support violence or disruption, but is it possible that our so-called enemies are people who are trying to show us the way to be truly free?

I like Florence Reece's version of "Which side are you on?" better than Ani DiFranco's. I think Ani sidetracked into too many of the "-isms" in the system of fear, distrust, and envy which keeps us divided and powerless. Furthermore, if you understand the meaning of Audre Lorde's essay "The Master's Tools Will Never Dismantle The Master's House" you will realize that the criminal enterprise which is running this country cannot be voted out of office. Even if you succeed in replacing patriarchy with matriarchy, the criminal enterprise will remain. All that will change will be the gender of the arch criminals.
