Bucky Fuller was right

Oxfam says the rich could end poverty:

You know damn well they won't; that's why they're rich. The poor are not invited to Davos.

R. Buckminster Fuller said the following in his grand strategy for solving global problems:

People living now, for the first time in history, have the opportunity, privilege, and responsibility to help to make all these things come true. All of humanity has struggled, dreamed, hoped, worked, and prayed for this moment in history. It is up to us to help make it happen.

(You can read the rest of the strategy @ http://www.buckminster.info/Strategy/GrandStrategy.htm)

What's standing in our way?

Bankers and robber barrons like Jay Gould, who once said:

I can hire one half of the working class to kill the other half.

And that's exactly what we have today: a ruling class that pays some of us (cops, soldiers, tax collectors) to keep the rest of us just where they want us: dependent and hungry.

How could this be in "the land of the free and the home of the brave"? Hint: that's not where you live.
